So I thought I'd fill people in on what I've been up to.
Zimble Zoo is now launched for Android. It's available in the Play store. It's taken a lot longer to reach this point than I thought it would originally. Although it's been in the Play store since boxing day 2015, I hadn't really pushed it out to people until recently. I spent a little while ironing out some of the more persistant bugs, and fixing a few of the more irritating parts of the game. The bulk of my time though was spent on preparing materials for marketing.
I've never had to do much marketing before. I've mostly done analysis and development up until I started working for myself. There's a lot to learn, and I've got a bit more respect for the guys I used to work with that do this stuff. It took me a long time to make my launch video into something I was actually proud of - though much of that time was spent finding a program to make it in that I didn't hate!
I've made my first promo video, my first press release, my first company profile, my Facebook and Twitter accounts for both my company and my game, my websites for both and now my first blog post. It's taken time, but it's worth it, and, in today's market, it's been totally necessary.
Once it was all prepared, I was finally at a point where I could thrust my game upon the world! I've dispatched it for review to a number of popular websites, hoping that someone thinks it's as good as I do (or at somewhere close). I've also been pestering friends on Facebook and Twitter to help me spread the word. Everything you might expect for a new-born app...
